Governors

Our governing body is responsible for the strategic management of the school and will make decisions about a wide range of issues.

The core responsibilities involve:

  • Ensuring accountability; holding staff to account when standards are less than ‘good’
  • Acting as a ‘critical friend’ to the leadership of the school
  • Monitoring and evaluating the school’s progress
  • Budgetary allocation and control
  • Planning for the long term future of the school
  • Setting the school’s aims and values
  • Appointing senior members of staff including the Headteacher

Following our last inspection by Ofsted the governors approved a School Improvement Plan to address the areas for action. This is reviewed and evaluated termly.

Register of Interests

A conflict of interest is any situation in which a relevant individual’s personal interests or loyalties could, or could be seen to, prevent them from making a decision only in the best interests of the school.

All relevant individuals are required to declare any business and pecuniary interest which leads to, or may potentially lead to, a conflict of interest and, wherever possible, to avoid situations in which there is or may be a conflict of interest.
